Orange

In April 1994, Orange (www.orange.co.uk) entered the UK market as the last in a field of four, along with Cellnet, Vodafone and one2one. Originally owned by a consortium of British Aerospace and Hutchison (who now owns the 3 network), Orange was bought in 2000 by France Telecom. Orange has over 13 million UK customers - approximately 27% of the market share.

Orange has a GSM 1800 network in the UK, and other networks overseas. Its 3G network also currently covers 70% of the UK population.
