Types of Accident

Slips and Trips

Employers have a duty of care towards their employees, and this extends to ensuring there is a safe working environment.

If you injure yourself by tripping over obstructions in doorways or corridors, slipping on floors where spillages have occurred and not been cleaned or falling from dangerous stairs or ladders you may be able to make a claim for compensation.

Back Injuries

Back injuries are common and you can leave you unable to work for lengthy periods of time. If your job involves lifting heavy objects, you should be trained how to lift safely. If you injure your back at work as a result of inadequate training you may be able to claim compensation.

Severe Injury

You may be able to claim compensation if you suffer a severe injury such as broken bones or severed limbs as a result of defective or dangerous equipment or machinery.

Disease and Other Serious Injury

Some injuries may only appear months or even years after you worked for an employer. If you believe you have acquired a disease or condition (due to exposure to excessive noise, toxic fumes or chemicals) because of a lack of proper safety equipment and clothing you should speak to a solicitor who specialises in compensation law.
