1. Avoid dehydration by drinking plenty of water; little and often is best.
2. Try to minimise your consumption of tea, coffee and alcohol, and avoid completely if possible.
3. To avoid catching a cold or any other germs from your fellow passengers, try to keep your hands clean, and avoid touching your face and eyes. Bring a packet of anti-bacterial wipes to clean your hands before you eat anything and after using the bathroom.
4. Stretch your arms and legs every hours, and follow our in-flight exercise tips.
5. Remove contact lenses before going to sleep.
6. Keep your skin moisturised, especially just before your plane lands - it's a great way to freshen up. You should also carry a good eye cream and eye drops; your eyes and the delicate skin around them are particular affected by the dry cabin conditions.
