Reading a Wine Label from Spain

Key:

  1. La Rioja Alta, S.A: The producer.

  2. ViƱa Ardanza: The wine name.

  3. Reserva: This indicates that the wine has received additional barrel age - at least three years in barrel and bottle. This particular wine has actually been aged for 3 years in cask and 2 years in bottle.

  4. 1998: The year the grapes were harvested (the vintage year).
