During the N-Gage's life, there were fifty six full titles released, all of them (apart from Snakes and Payload) available on MMC flash memory card. In addition, a number of demos were placed on the N-Gage.com website as free downloads in order to allow people to sample the game. This technique, pioneered by Nokia's first in-house title, Pathway to Glory, proved a successful marketing route, leading to a boost in sales of the full games.
One of the best games for the N-Gage was said to be Snakes, a simple 3D maze-running puzzle game that epitomised everything that was unique about the console. The game was only available online; however, this was a free download, which also featured an option to copy the game to another N-Gage unit using Bluetooth.
Games are still available for download from the N-Gage.com website, with a free try-before-you-buy option. Once downloaded (full games costing about £6.50), players simply need to transfer the game from their PC to a MMC. The 11 games currently available for download are:
