PSP Games

Games released for the PlayStation Portable are stored on Sony's proprietary optical disc, the Universal Media Disc (UMD). The disc can hold up to 1.8 gigabytes of data, and is inserted into the UMB drive at the rear of the console.

In addition to a huge range of newly released titles (see below), Sony have also released a number of downloadable PlayStation games that can be accessed through the PlayStation Network service for PLAYSTATION 3 and played via emulation for the PlayStation Portable. Demos for commercial PSP titles can also be downloaded and booted directly from the system's Memory Stick Duo.

There are also a range of popular re-released titles, known as the Platinum collection in Europe, and the Greatest Hits series in North America. This budget lineup (each game costing approximately £19.99 or $19.99) consists of games that have sold more than 250,000 copies and have been out for at least 9 months.
