As you try more and more wines, your awareness of flavour and your personal preferences will develop. Giving wine some contemplation whilst you're drinking it is easily the best method for finding your way around the grapes, regions and styles of the wine world. It's far more enjoyable than simply reading about it, and a taste will stay in your memory far longer than any book.
If you're unsure of what you'd like to try, take a look at our section on wine flavours, where we investigate the major styles of wine, and offer some suggestions to get you started.
Remember that wine tasting is not a test - there are no right answers. Any wine that tastes good to you is good wine!
