Chateauneuf-Du-Pape

The name comes from a period of time in the 14th century, when the papal court relocated to Avignon. It is a district in the southern Rhone region of France where quality red wine is produced. These wines may be made from up to 13 different grapes, but Syrah and Grenache are the primary two.
