Local Media
There are a number of daily newspapers published in Jamaica, including Jamaica Gleaner, Jamaica Observer and Jamaica Star. They are all published in English. There is also a weekly paper called the Sunday Herald.
The Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation was privatised in 1997, and became Television Jamaica Limited (TVJ). There are also a number of other TV channels including CVM Television and Love TV (a religious channel).
BBC World Service and Caribbean Service radio programmes are available via the BBC 104 FM network. Radio Jamaica Ltd (RJR) operates three commercial networks: RJR 94 FM, FAME-FM (entertainment) and Radio 2 FM (music and sports). Commercial stations include Hot 102, Irie FM, KLAS FM, Power 106 and Roots 96.1 FM.
