Removable Drives

Decide what drives you need when you buy your laptop, whether it is a Floppy, DVD, CD or Zip drive. Your laptop won't be able to incorporate all of them but most are removable and/or can be fitted externally. External drives cost more than internal, so be wary of that.

Hard Drive

The larger your hard drive, the more data you can store on your laptop. 10Gb is the minimum you will need, more is of course preferable. Depending on what your laptop will be used for, you could find yourself running out of free space fast.
