Old World

In wine-speak the Old World refers to the European nations - France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Austria and so on - with a long history of viticulture. This is the home to most of the world's established wine styles and grape varieties. Old World can also refer to wines from other countries that seek to emulate these styles.
