Good Time to Visit

The main rainy season lasts from February-May, with the major dry season from June-September. There is a hot equatorial climate near Iake Tanganyika; the rest of the country is mild. (For more detailed information, see Climate in Burundi).

Visitors are recommended to bring lightweight cottons and linens, with warm clothes for the evening. Waterproofs should be brought for the rainy season.
