Good Time to Visit

Weather

May to October is dry and there is a slight decrease in temperature. The rest of the year is hot and wet. Angola's average temperature on the coast is 60 degrees Fahrenheit (16°C) in the winter and 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21°C) in the summer. For more information, see Climate in Angola.

Festivals

Christmas is the biggest celebration of the year. A feast (or ceia) is held on 24 December of turkey and rice. After the ceia, gifts are exchanged, and handmade cakes and dried fruits are eaten, including grapes with which wishes are made. Angolans attend church on Christmas Day itself. Public holidays to mark anniversaries are held throughout the year.
