Food and Drink

Local cooking includes roast meat and cous-cous with vegetable sauces. You will often find French and Italian influenced dishes in hotels in Algiers and various coastal resorts, albeit with spicier sauces. In the south, you should expect a more limited range of foodstuffs. Fish dishes are particularly good.

Alcohol is only available in expensive hotels and restaurants. Whilst the country produces good wines, they can be difficult to find locally.
