Nunchuk
The Nunchuk can be connected to the Wii Remote via a short cable, and its extra buttons, analogue joystick and motion-sensing controls gives players an additional means of control in Nunchuk-compatible games. For example, in the game The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, the Nunchuk is used as the players shield, whilst the standard Wii Remote is their sword. Each Wii console comes with one Nunchuk accessory, and additional controllers can be purchased separately.
Classic Controllers
The Classic Controller combines design elements from Nintendo's classic video game controllers, such as the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and Nintendo 64, into one control pad. This enables users to play classic games from the Virtual Console the way they were designed to be played. The Classic Controller may also be used to play some Wii Disc games. In order to use the Controller, the player must connect it to the Wii Remote via a short cable, so that the Wii Remote can provide the Controller with a wireless connection to the Wii console.
Component Cable
The component video cable splits the signal into three separate channels of video information, and includes five connectors to the television: 3 for video, and 2 for left and right stereo audio. This cable can be used to provide compatible televisions (with Y, PB, PR connections, usually coloured green, blue and red) with a superior connection quality.
RGB Cable
The RGB cable splits the signal into three separate channels of video information, allowing users to view and enjoy their games with an enhanced image display. The cable includes a Euro AV plug (SCART) for video and stereo audio output.
Wii Lan Adaptor
Although the Wii can connect to the Internet wirelessly, those who do not have a wireless Internet connection may need to purchase a LAN Adapter in order to connect the console via a LAN cable connection.
The adaptor connects to one of the two USB ports on the rear of the console, which then provides a connection point for the user to connect their own LAN cable to the broadband modem.
Wii Points Card
The Wii Points Card can be used in place of a credit card to buy online items from the Wii Shop Channel, such as downloadable Virtual Console games. The card can be bought from major retailers, and costs approximately £14 for 2,000 points. Each card has a panel that can be scratched off to reveal an activation code, which the user then inputs in the Wii Shop Channel to redeem their points.
