EVO

The EVO is a multi-media entertainment system manufactured by the US company Envizions Computer Entertainment. The unit is designed to carry out three primary functions: PC applications, media centre and gaming; however not all functions are immediately available, and the system will ship in three different phases.

EVO: Phase One went on sale via the Internet on October 20, 2006. In this phase, users can play PC games or customised Envizions Computer Entertainment Corporation games on the EVO console. However, EVO console games cannot be played until specialised software is released in Phase Two.

The system also has DVR functionality (pause, rewind or record live TV) and the system ships with the Akimbo video on demand application pre-installed, which gives users access to over 10,000 videos, movies or documentaries. Customers can purchase specially discounted games from EVO: Direct to play on the console or any other PC, and users may also subscribe to a monthly package that contains a number of games that may be played online.
