Emerson Radio Corporation, founded in 1948, is one of the United States' largest volume consumer electronics distributors, designing and marketing many product lines internationally, including video (including televisions, VCRs and DVD players), audio, microwave ovens, home theatre and high end acoustics.
Emerson were also the manufacturers of the Emerson Arcadia 2001, a second generation 8-bit video game console in 1982. However, the console failed to make any impression on the market before the video game crash of 1983, and is considered to be one of the biggest game console flops of all time.
