Hard Drives

Hard drives vary in size or capacity (quoted in Gigabites or Gb). The greater the capacity, the mroe free space you have to store your data files. A 60 Gb hard drive is the minimum you should really consider. Your PC case will offer a certain number of spaces for securing hard drives, so if you purchase a high capacity hard drive at the start, it will make adding more hard drives easier later.

Apart from the size of your hard drive, the only other property you need to consider is spin rate. A minimum of 5400 RPM is recommended, although most drives now operate at 7200 RPM. The slower the speed, the longer your computer will take to access files.
