Robertson

Some 120 km east of Cape Town, next to Worcester, this hot region is rather paradoxically best known for its whites. This is due to its lime-rich soils, and the many estates and co-operatives grow white grapes almost exclusively - particularly Chardonnay.

It produces approximately 10% of the national harvest of South Africa, with De Wetshof, Springfield and Graham Beck amongst the leading producers.
