The male reproductive system consists of the penis, scrotum, and the testes that are suspended in the scrotum. The sperm produced in the testes is carried to the ejaculatory duct by a tube known as the vas deferens. The ejaculatory duct is also connected to the seminal vesicle, which adds fluids and nutrients to the sperm. Fluid is also added to the semen by the prostate gland. During sexual activity, the vas deferens contacts and semen is forced down the urethra. Muscle contractions at the base of the penis cause it to be ejaculated out of the body.
