Mouse Mats

Mouse mats are an important accessory if you use your computer mouse a lot, or when looking for greater control. Mouse mats are also used to extend the life of a computer mouse, as well as protecting your desk from damage. In addition, they help reduce friction, making your mouse easier to use and reducing the effort needed to move it.

There are a wide range of mouse mats available, and almost all new computers will come with a basic mouse mat. However, depending on the type of mouse you are using, and the use you are making of your mouse, a different type or style of mouse mat may be more suitable.

For optical mice, a slightly ridged mouse mat is more suitable than a perfectly flat one. For normal ball-mice, a mouse mat with a slightly 'grippy' surface is better, as it gives the ball something to roll along without slipping.
