Telephone- and web-based brokers order new cars in bulk, securing savings for you as a result. However, you they will not be able to offer you the personal service that a dealer can give you, nor will you be able to test drive the car. However, there is nothing to stop you from contacting a local supplier for the car you want to test-drive, then take advantage of the savings a broker can offer.
Many brokers do not demand any fee for their services; they simply source the new car for you and then put you in contact with the main agents who can offer you the most favourable deal. You will then deal with that agent directly. The broker either earns a fee from the agent or is supported by subscriptions from the agents to enable them to be included in the search database. However, this is not always the case, so you must make sure that there are no hidden costs before you order.
