World University Rankings

Higher Education has, in recent years, become increasingly international with more students than ever choosing to spend at least one year abroad. This is particularly true of postgraduate study where students are prepared to travel to other countries to find the best courses.

With this in mind we've compiled a list of the top ranked 100 universities in the world. The universities are scored out of a maximum of 100 points using 5 different ranking elements (peer review, research impact, academic citations, staff-student ratio and percentage of international faculty).

Unsurprisingly the top country in the list is the USA with 35 institutions in the top 100 followed by the UK with 15 and Australia with 10. Germany and the Netherlands round of the top 5 countries with 5 and 4 institutions in the list respectively.
