Types of Climate

Climates vary across the Earth from place to place and the countries around the world do not fit into neat categories of climate and weather.

There are many factors that influence a particular region's climate such as distance from the equator and the local topography (natural features and landscape). For example mountain ranges and hilly areas can increase or decrease rainfall and coastal areas often have a different climate to similar areas inland.
