Dairy products are generally defined as foodstuffs produced from milk, such as cream, butter, cheese, yoghurt and of course, milk itself. Although the milk used in processing generally comes from cows, milk from other mammals such as goats, sheep, water buffalo and yaks may also be used. Eggs are also included under the heading of dairy.
Health officials have recommended that we include two to three servings of dairy products in our diets each day.
