Types of School

There are a range of different types of schooling in the UK: State schools (coordinated by local authorities), Independent schools (also known as public or private schools) or you may even choose to teach your child yourself (home schooling). There are also schools for children with special educational needs (SENs).

In this section, we take a look at all these styles of schooling, along with state or independent boarding schools, which house students on a weekly or termly basis.
