The characteristic dim lighting and loud, pumping music of a nightclub means that they are traditionally seen as a meeting place for bodies rather than minds. There is little chance that you'll be able to engage in a conversation more challenging than "Do you fancy a dance?", let alone find out whether someone shares the same interests, views and goals as you.
If you do meet someone you like the look of, avoid handing out your home telephone number unless you feel sure that you have got to know them well; give them your mobile or your e-mail address instead. Never hand out details of your home or work address for any reason.
