What relationships should we avoid? Whilst some may be merely tricky (such as dating a colleague at work), there are some that can be positively damaging to your emotions, your self-esteem, your friendships or even to your health. These include commitment-phobes, abusive partners and those who are married or involved with someone else.
Unfortunately, we often get so caught up in the relationship that by the time we realise that it's unhealthy or inappropriate it's often too late to be objective and make a rational decision about it.
However, what may not be obvious to you will usually be picked up by your closest friends; even if you don't agree with them at the time, taking time to listen to their concerns may help you look at your new relationship in an objective way, which could save you a great deal heartache and trouble further down the line.
