Buckingham University - Student Life

Housing: Private accommodation not hard to find; many students prefer it to halls. Ask accommodation office; look in Buckingham Advertiser.

Eats: Meal £3-£4 on campus; £8-£12 off-campus. Indian, chinese and italian restaurants in town, plus several takeaways.

Drink: University bar popular (beer £2 a pint); as are pubs, Villiers, Grand Junction, Britannia.

Nightlife: Discos, live bands, karaoke, multi-cultural nights on campus. Good entertainment in Milton Keynes (incl cinema) and Oxford.

Locals: Fairly friendly and helpful. Safe area for students.

Sports: Health & fitness centre, snooker room, all-weather basketball and tennis courts, sport field. Many sports clubs. Use of local sports facilities, including new indoor swimming pool and sports centre in town.

Financial help: Some funds available.

Jobs: In library, computer rooms, SU office, local supermarkets, pubs and restaurants.

Best features: Multicultural student body, small tutorial groups, diverse social life.

And worst: Outgoing students can party too much.
