The main question you might ask yourself when buying a new monitor is whether you wish to get a standard for Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) monitor or the relatively new digital flat-panel monitor. Size is also important and a flat-panel monitor takes up far less space on a desk then the old CRTs.
Of course, the actual size of the screen is very important too and many people choose to opt for at least a 17inch screen when considering a CRT, possibly smaller for a more expensive Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) flat screen monitor.
