Buying a Laptop

Before buying a laptop, you should consider a few things:

Do you actually need a laptop?

If you don't need to transport your laptop regularly, then do you really need it? On average, you can buy two desktop PC's for the price of a relatively equipped laptop; this means that if you are only going to be transporting your laptop between two places, you could be better off buying two desktops rather than a laptop. However, if you travel a lot and need access to your files and the internet, then a laptop is for you.

Remember, that a desktop is superior to a laptop in all ways bar portability. Laptops can work out slower than a comparatively equipped desktop. Most laptops are also non-upgradeable, and when you can upgrade, it is invariably more expensive to do so than upgrading a PC.

What is it going to be used for?

There are several factors to consider before purchasing a laptop, but first you need to decide what you are going to use it for. There are several basic user groups of computers; listed below is what they all need to consider before buying a laptop.
