Many people leaving school or University find writing a CV very challenging, as they find it hard to pinpoint what it is about them that is marketable. On the other hand, many older people find it difficult, as they have done so much in their working life that it is hard to condense everything down into something manageable and easy to understand. Anyone who has had an unconventional career can also find it difficult to put together a CV, as their life has not followed a standard route, which on the surface, most CV formats seem to require. If you fall into any of these categories - don't worry, the format that you choose for your CV will often help solve these problems.
There are three formats widely used today: Chronological, Functional and a mixture of the two termed The Performance C.V.
