Choosing Your Date

Once you've placed your advert, the voicemail messages should start to flood in from potential dates. Here are some tips on deciding which messages to follow up:

  • Start by listening to all of the recorded messages and give everyone marks out of ten. It may sound brutal, but it's very hard to evaluate unless you can work on some sort of rating system.
  • Listen to what they have to say and the way that they say it. Have they picked up on anything you've said in your advert? What sort of description do they give of themselves?
  • Decide on the criteria that's important to you. Someone sporty and active, or a homebody? Someone who sounds confident and sassy, or someone who sounds a little shy?
  • Try to make contact with as many people as you can. If someone leaves their mobile number, consider sending them a text message and ask them if they have an email address where you can write to them. This can be a more relaxed way of getting to know someone than just ringing them up unexpectedly. You'll also be able to swap photos online. Do progress to telephone conversations if the e-mailing goes well though.
  • After you've chatted on the phone a few times, and you like what you hear, arrange to meet up (always remember the safety rules).

It's as easy as that!
