The most popular method of astrological prediction is the one that uses the continuous orbits - transits, of the planets. The transits show the trends in our life brought about by circumstances that we face, and most astrologers see the effects of the transits in subtle terms, suggesting opportunities or hindrances.
The readings predict the essence of changes and events, which may indicate opportunities or caution regarding certain activities and actions. Being aware of approaching transit aspects may prepare us to the time when we should move ahead, or react cautiously. However, they should not be used exclusively to base our decisions on, but as a tool to help make a balanced choice.
Transits are used for almost all types of astrological chart, including the Sun-sign horoscopes that appear in magazines and newspapers. However, not everyone responds to transiting planetary energies in the same way - some people are hardly aware of their motion whereas others are directly sensitive to change or movement.
The five personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars) are used for daily or weekly predictions of an everyday nature but the five outermost planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) are more important for major events and monthly or yearly analysis.
Transits are analysed in much the same way as natal planetary positions. The planets are most effective when changing sign or house or when forming major aspects to planets in the birthchart.
