By now, your house move will begin to feel very real, and you may wonder if you'll ever get everything done in time. However, if you've been following our moving checklists, you should be well on track.
- Don't forget to check the general condition of the property you're buying and make sure that anything you purchased separately or which was included in the purchase price is present.
- Confirm that meters will be read by utility companies before or soon after you move, and confirm that the meters will be read and services connected when you arrive at your new home.
- Clear out the freezer, defrost the fridge and freezer and give them a thorough clean (make sure they're dry). If you're going to take your freezer full of food, turn it up to full power so that everything gets frozen solid over the next few days.
- Do any last minute washing and pack any clothes you won't need before you move.
- Pack everything in the kitchen except for your Essentials Kit.
- Finish packing and marking boxes and check that they're labelled correctly.
- Start cleaning the house.
- Finish any odd jobs such as getting rid of sacks of rubbish or recycling bottles and newspapers.
- Cancel any regular deliveries, such as milk or newspapers, and settle any outstanding bills.
