This slow moving planet takes two-and-a half years to travel through one sign and about 28 years to complete a cycle. Saturn's energy is repressive and dense but long lasting, controling our karmic responsibilities and our capacity to learn about life.

Saturn brings obstacles, pain, trials, loneliness and endings, but by surviving and learning from such trials, we become stronger and can carve out a real identity. Saturn helps us learn persistence, determination and discipline in order to achieve our dreams.

Saturnine people are serious, cautious and self-controlled. They are also self-reliant, responsible and resourceful, feeling a need to make a useful contribution to society. An excess of Saturn can cause emotional repression, trepidation and a reluctance to accept anything new and original.
