Planning

As soon as you know when you will be moving - ideally at least four weeks before your moving date - you should begin to plan your removal. The secret of organising a trouble free move is to think about everything well in advance and make a timetable of when jobs need to be done - and stick to it! We can help you with this task, as we have created a number of checklists to plan your move down to the last detail - from what you need to do a month before the move, to moving day itself.

You will need to decide whether you are going to hire a professional removal company or handle the job yourself, and we take a look at what you'll need to consider for both options.

You'll also need to let people know your new address. Check out our article on informing people to find out exactly who you'll need to notify. As a general rule, you should be cautious about giving anyone your new details before you've exchanged contracts, as approximately 30% of sales fall through before this point.
