There is a big difference between boarding over the floor of your loft to make full use of the space for storage, and converting it into a proper room. A loft conversion is a good way to increase your living space without altering the volume or footprint of your property. Although it involves meeting building regulations and possibly acquiring planning permission, loft conversion is quicker and less disruptive than adding an extension.
