Taurus

20 April - 20 May

Negative - Fixed - Earth

Taurus is the second sign of the Zodiac after Aries, and people born under this sign are rarely in a rush to do anything. They are happy to take second place in a project and follow their Arian leaders. Solid, nurturing and calming, the bull is the symbol of Taurus, symbolising passion, strength and instinct. Taureans make good planners, teachers or parents, in fact anything that calls for thought, diligence, patience and common sense.

They form deep attachments to their loved ones, home and possessions, and are inclined to be suspicious of anything they cannot touch, taste or measure. They are renowned for their excessive stubbornness and nothing will dissuade them once they are convinced they are right. Taureans can be so set in their ways that it is not unusual for them to become totally stuck and unable to adapt. They want everything to be as it always was, and do not like being disturbed or forced into change.

Taureans love money, worldly goods, and status more than anything, and most of them possess an uncanny talent for personal gain. Taurean women are especially adept at making money go a long way, and despite being spendthrifts, they like to be seen as the people who have everything.

Taurus at Work

Taureans learn and adjust slowly, so they need a profession in which they can go at their own speed. They work on a basic ordered level and are often drawn towards manual or outdoor work. Their financial shrewdness may direct them into working with money, or their love of music can lead them to the world of entertainment. They might take up work as a landscape gardener, stockbroker, hotelier, musician, farmer, accountant or domestic worker.

Taurus at Play

Most Taureans enjoy doing nothing at all in their spare time - it is an opportunity to take it easy and unwind. They dislike being involved in fast or hazardous activities, and slow-moving, quiet sports and activities such as golf, tai-chi, snooker and yoga interest them, along with anything that involves sitting in a comfy chair, such as watching TV. They also enjoy activities which require a high level of concentration, like embroidery, jigsaws and reading.

Taurus and Health

Taureans are often hale and hearty with few major health concerns in their early years but are prone to suffer from sore throats and neck pains throughout their lives. Due to their inertia and love of food, they are also likely to put on weight easily.
