XP

Abbreviation for Experience Points.

A term generally used in role playing games (RPGs), experience points are normally gained through the completion of quests, through battles and other actions. Gaining XP enables a character to increase their proficiency, eventually allowing them to 'level up'. In some games, such as Morrowind, XP is allocated to certain skills, depending on what skills are used the most.
