Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES)

Also known in Japan as the Super Famicom.

Nintendo's 16-bit video game console released in 1990 in Japan, 1991 in North America and 1992 in Europe, selling over 49 million units world-wide. The console was superseded by the Nintendo 64.
