Quest

A term used in role playing game to describe the tasks or objectives given to a player within an overarching storyline. Side-quests are those tasks that have nothing to do with the overarching storyline, but can be done to gain XP, certain items or just for fun. Chain-quests are those that must be done one after the other in a long chain, before the final quest in that chain can be attempted in order to achieve the major reward.
