Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)

Also known in Japan as the Famicom.

Nintendo's first and most successful video games console to date, with over 50 million NES consoles sold worldwide. The machine, introduced in 1985 was based on 8 bit technology and was superseded by the SNES (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) in 1990.
