Sim

An abbreviation for simulation games.

1. Any game that simulates a world from a fairly broad point of view; for example, a neighbourhood (The Sims), a city (Sim City), an empire (Age of Empires) or the entire planet (Sim Earth). These types of games are also often known as God Games.
2. Also used to describe games that simulate a particular experience, such as flying a plane or driving a car.
