Buff

A term used in massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPGs) to describe a positive status effect, usually gained by casting a spell. Buffs may increase the target's movement rate, attributes (stats), attack speed, hit points (HP), magic points (MP), or increase the regeneration of either HPs or MPs.
