Pressure Sore

Also known as a Bedsore.

An ulcerated area of skin which is formed due to continual pressure. Bedsores are seen in the bedridden and can be avoided if the patient's position is frequently changed and the skin kept clean and dry. They may also be seen after the removal of a badly fitted plaster-cast or splint.
