Atrium

(plural, Atria)

One of two upper chambers of the heart, known as the right and left atrium. The left atrium receives oxygenated blood from the lungs and passes it to the left ventricle, whilst the right atrium receives deoxygenated blood from the body, and passes it to the right ventricle.
