Asthma

A condition characterised by inflamed airways and difficulty breathing, in which the bronchi (passages of the lungs) become so narrowed that it is almost impossible to get air into them. An attack may be caused by an allergy, exercise or worry. In between attacks a sufferer often breathes normally.
