Alcoholism

Excessive, persistent consumption of alcoholic drinks to the extent that this behaviour interferes with the individual's normal personal, family, social, or work life. The cure is complete abstinence from alcohol, and this can only be achieved if one first admits that one is alcoholic and then seeks help. A number of social agencies have been set up to cope with this problem.
