Between the two World Wars, this term was used to a light-weight racing car with an engine limited to 1500 cc. In the 1990s, the term was revived to apply to a vehicle weighing less than 350 kilograms empty and carrying a load of not more than 200 kilograms. Such vehicles are sometimes also called 'motor quadricycles'.
